About

Hi I’m Daniel. I’m a Lecturer at the University of British Columbia. I primarily teach Data Science tooling through the Statistics department, and through the Master’s of Data Science program at UBC.
Previously, I was a data science educator and developer advocate at Posit, PBC. They are the authors of a TON of open source data science tools, some of which are used in this tutorial.

NoteMeet the Shiny Team
Members of the Posit team, including Shiny for Python engineers, developers, and maintainers, will be attending SciPy 2026.
Go say hi and ask them anything about Shiny!
