A miniature of the "A Dictionary of Color Combinations" wheel. Both modes render the same shapes and dim the same way on hover — the only difference is how the cursor decides what it's pointing at. Move your mouse slowly across the lines inside the circle in each mode.
In exact mode, whenever your cursor is between two ribbons it
is over nothing — the group's mouseleave fires, the dim
clears, and the whole wheel flashes back to full opacity until you land on the
next line. In snap mode a transparent backing disc means the
cursor is always "within" the wheel, and the highlighted object is chosen by
geometry (nearest ribbon via d3.Delaunay, or the arc at
that angle) — so there are no dead gaps to flash on.
